Dr. Juan Guillermo Coquelet—known fondly to many colleagues, patients, and friends as "John" or "Johny"—co-founded this practice alongside Dr. Punger in 2004.
While our individual motivations for entering private practice grew from different roots, it was his dedication, sacrifice, and foundational support that made our shared dream a reality. In the early years, he carried the heavy weight of hospital call coverage, committee leadership, facility setup, and administrative foundation. His willingness to take on the brunt of those hospital demands gave Dr. Punger the space and freedom to pursue her specialized passion for breastfeeding medicine, natural remedies, and intuitive family care.
Beyond the walls of our medical office, his greatest and most enduring legacy lives on in our three adult sons. Today, those same young men step up every day to support this practice, bringing their own strength, skills, and dedication to serving our patient community.
While life brings complex journeys, unexpected grief, and profound life transitions, the enduring foundation we built together—as parents, co-founders, and lifelong partners in raising our family—remains strong. This practice, our home, and our boys are a testament to that shared history.
Honoring his memory means continuing the work we started over three decades ago with gratitude, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to the health of our local community.
